ECED 2150

Clinical Practicum III

2 semester hours

  

Course Description:

      Supervised practicum experience with a minimum of 15 clock hours in seminar and 45 clock hours of approved early childhood practical experiences.  This course focuses on the student’s demonstration of competencies that produce positive developmental outcomes for young children ages birth to nine.  (Pre-requisite: All required ECED courses)

 Course Outcomes:

      The student will:

·        Use understanding of components of quality early childhood programs and developmental knowledge to demonstrate competencies that produce positive outcomes for young children.

·        Use information gained from observations of children to design appropriate curriculum that meets the diverse needs of children within the group, including children with disabilities.

·        Know, understand and use standards of the profession’s Code of Ethical Conduct with children, families, and staff.

·        Identify local, state, and national early childhood issues and avenues for advocacy.
