ECED 2130

Clinical Practicum I

2 semester hours

 

Course Description:

      Supervised practicum with a minimum of 15 clock hours in seminar and 45 clock hours in early childhood practical experiences.  Course includes a study of the physical and human qualities that combine to create an environment that is safe and healthy, and promotes optimum learning for young children ages birth to nine.  (Pre-requisite: ECED 2010)

 Course Outcomes:

      The student will:

·        Use developmental knowledge to create a safe, healthy, respectful, supportive, and challenging learning environment for young children.

·        Use reflective practice to evaluate the effectiveness of learning environments.

·        Engage in collaborative learning opportunities to assist in making plans for improving the early childhood environment.
